Mentoring

As a first-generation high school student, the amazing mentors that I have been fortunate to have at every stage of my career have played essential roles in my development as a scientist, educator, and in turn, mentor.  Because of all they have given me, I feel called to help others experience the many benefits of successful, productive, and fulfilling mentor–mentee relationships.  I am proud to serve as the Faculty Fellow of the University of Pittsburgh Center for Mentoring and am a Principal/Master Facilitator of both the Entering Mentoring Curriculum (mentor training) and Entering Research Curriculum (mentee training) from the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) and the National Research Mentoring Network (NRMN). Through these roles, I have been offering training workshops as part of our Mentoring Academy program for mentors and mentees across the university and beyond to help support mentors, share best practices in mentoring, activate new mentors, and provide mentees with strategies to be proactive in maximizing their mentoring relationships.

To request Mentor/Mentee training workshops or to discuss any needs related to mentoring please feel free to contact me or the Center for Mentoring.
